Cross the Pedernales River and the noise falls away. What's left is a small, friendly club with great courts, a resort-style pool, and a covered patio that feels more like a neighbor's back porch than a fitness center.
We run lean on purpose. Rather than a payroll of staff, the club works with independent contractors — coaches, instructors, and trainers who are paid directly by the members who book them. It keeps membership affordable, and it keeps the people you work with invested in doing right by you.

Four lighted hard tennis courts and four dedicated pickleball courts. A resort-style pool with newly installed, lightly covered pergolas. A hydrotherapy circuit. A self-serve fitness room. A children's playscape, a bocce court, and an outdoor kitchen — all on a campus you can walk end to end in five minutes.
The club is self-access and self-serve — no front desk, no waiting on staff. Members come and go on their own time, every day from 6 am to 10 pm, per POA hours.

A multiple national champion for Mexico — ranked #1 in his country across the U10 through U16 categories — Gerardo competed in the US Open Juniors, the Junior Davis Cup, and later the ATP 500 in Acapulco. He played NCAA Division I tennis at Clemson, then coached there, guiding a doubles team to the NCAA semifinals.
He holds a master's in Sports Management and has developed top juniors at high-performance academies, including a current NCAA singles champion. In 2020 he moved to Austin to become Director of Racquet Sports at Lakecliff.
His purview is everything member-facing on the courts — clinics, drills, lessons, the junior academy, socials, and tournaments.
Mahin and Dave Barker own and operate Lakecliff Racquet Club — entrepreneurs and part of the Lakecliff neighborhood in Spicewood. They oversee day-to-day operations, membership, and the long-term vision for the grounds. For tours, membership questions, facility rentals, or anything else, they’re the people to reach.
